A message from our former President...Yamamoto
Thank you very much for visiting our ICF Chiba Toastmasters Club site.
"ICF" stands for "International Communication and Friendship."
In short, our target is to become cosmopolitans in real meaning through
improving our skill to communicate.
Recently, I sometimes find I am speaking English freely to a certain extent.
Sooner or later, we will be confident that "Slow and steady makes Perfect."
After about 20 years with ICF I have noticed "Never give up" works.
It is often said that Japanese have some ability of English in reading and listening, but they are a little poor in speaking.
The reason is simple. The opportunity to speak English is very limited in daily lives.
Activities in ICF make you get the custom to speak and think in English.
You need partners to speak English. You also need to know what and how to speak.
It may be a little embarrassing when you start, but you can work out through mobilizing all power of English you already have.
The embarrassment comes from your lack of confidence and fear of bad evaluation by other people about English grammar.
Solutions can be found in ICF.
We do not have any professional instructors of English, but we have so many experienced members who could and would support you to know how to say it for effective communication.
We do not study English, we have fun with English.
"Poor English?, Wrong English?" Do not worry!
We all started with mistakes.
English can give us other assets including logical thinking, which is sometimes not the case with Japanese language.
Please come and experience ICF.
You are always welcome.
